My research focuses on the application of Geographical Information Systems (GIS) technology and remote sensing to a wide range of environmental and health problems. My environmental research has centered on satellite-derived indices of landscape pattern to quantify degradation and map vegetation type. My health-related research has focused predominantly on the spatial patterns of various infectious diseases e.g. HIV, malaria and TB and GIS models to describe and predict these distributions.
